On behalf of the staff and students of B.C. Cate, I would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Parent-Faculty Organization for your generous support in funding the recent purchase of the “Build a Bear” kits for our students. PFO was able to give 198 students a kit. Staff all chipped in on December 20th for Grizzly Day to help assemble the bears with the students.
Your thoughtful contribution brought so many smiles to our students' faces and warmed their hearts. It truly was a special moment.
Please know that your generosity does not go unnoticed, and we deeply appreciate the time and effort that the PFO invests in our students. Once again, thank you for your unwavering support and for helping us create a positive and enriching environment for our students.
Additionally, Pam Kelly made 200 cut out cookies and frosting for our little Grizzlies. Our B.C. Cate family is so thankful for your generosity.
To add more fun, we had Doug the magician perform to our students. They all had a blast!

Our Kids Farmers Market has arrived. Send in reusable shopping bags with your students so they can take home some delicious potatoes, apples, asparagus, onions, and lettuce.
B.C. Cate Elementary has partnered with the Schuyler County Youth Bureau and will host a "Grizzly Bike Rally" this evening from 5-7pm. See attached flyer.
We are excited to share that we will once again offer the L.E.A.P. program this summer. See attached flyer for more information.
The May "Kids Farmers Market" is ready for our little grizzlies to take home fresh produce. Remember to send in a bag with your child this week.

It has been a very busy April here at B.C. Cate Elementary School. In addition to all the great learning taking place within the classrooms our little grizzlies have also taken a field trip to the Clemens Center, planted a tree on campus with our friends from the U.S. Forest Service, spent time with our community heroes for Fire Safety Lessons, participated in OM Spirit Week, completed a can drive for our partners at the Food Bank of the Southern Tier, and participated in a R.O.A.R. assembly this morning. I hope that you enjoy a well-deserved Spring Recess next week and we look forward to your return on Monday, April 29th.
Our last "Saturday Sports" will be held this weekend. Thank you to our staff and community helpers that made this program possible! I would like to explore offering this program again next year. If you have any feedback that you would like to share, reach out to me.

Today we honored a group of little grizzlies that have been exemplars in displaying "Respectful" behavior.
Session #2 of "Saturday Sports" will take place tomorrow morning. If you are interested in having your child attend, call the main office to secure a spot on the roster.

I am happy to announce that we will offer haircuts at our next Grizzly Gathering on February 13th. Mr. Mortimer from Morty's Hot Spot and our in-house stylist Mrs. McKee have graciously donated their time and services! There is a limited number of appointments available, so if you are interested contact the main office to schedule and to complete required permission slip. Our monthly Kids Farmers Market is being set up now. Send in a reusable shopping bag for the remainder of the week so students can take home some fresh produce. This month we will distribute apples, potatoes, pineapples, onions, butternut squash and almonds.
