Grizzly Gathering Feb 13
Hello, Our monthly Kids Farmers Market was delivered this morning and we just finished setting it up for our little grizzlies. This month we will distribute 3,657 pounds of potatoes, onions, ginger gold apples, romaine lettuce, carrots, and honeydew melons. Don't forget to send in a reusable shopping bag with your child to use over the next few days. If you have any pictures you would like to share of your child cooking, baking, or eating the produce, email me and I will post it on the picture board in our main office. We will also have our friends from Wegmans onsite tomorrow to provide our students some fresh seasonable produce samples. I hope to see many of you at the Harlem Wizards basketball game tonight. Grizzly Families, Reminder: Wednesday, January 10th "The Wizards" basketball team will be playing at the main campus. The doors will open at 5:30 PM and game time will be 6:30PM. We have hosted them in the past and it has always been fun family entertainment. The Wizards will face off against some of our staff members in a basketball game where they will perform many tricks and just be downright silly. Another fantastic group of Grizzlies representing their grade levels at this month's Student Advisory Group. We discussed the OM Mission, R.O.A.R. (Respectful, Ownership, Accountable, and Responsible), The Grinch, building a snowman, told a few jokes and shared a pizza lunch. There is a lot of power in the young voices.

Good afternoon parents/caregivers, I will be hosting another “Principal's Coffee” meeting on December 11th from 8:30-9:15AM. Principal's Coffee is an informal opportunity for us to have a cup of coffee and meet with other parents/caregivers within our school. The format is a casual conversation in which I share what’s happening at the school, answer questions you may have, and discuss topics and ideas that relate to the Odessa-Montour Central School mission. If you would like to attend, please reach out to our secretary Ms. Elaine Gublo at 535-7267 or egublo@omschools.org to RSVP. Mr. Nolan

B.C. Cate Families, Hello from B.C. Cate where it is currently 28 degrees outside! Please take the time to make sure your children are dressed for the weather. Our little Grizzlies love to go outside and play and in your parent handbook you will see that we go outside unless it is below 20 degrees or raining. Our Parent Faculty Organization has been very busy. They hosted a fantastic Octoberfest for our community last week and quickly shifted their focus to books and donuts. The Scholastic Book Fair will be open for students throughout the remainder of this week. The book fair will also be open for parents this Thursday at dismissal from 2:40-3:15. Keep the Krispy Kreme Fundraiser orders coming in, they are all due back with payment on Thursday, November 9th. I will host another "Principals Coffee" on Monday, November 6th. If you would like to attend, please contact the main office at 535-7267 where you will be greeted by our new secretary, Ms. Gublo. Mrs. Stevenson will be transferring to the district office in a few weeks, and she is currently working with Ms. Gublo as she becomes familiar with our systems. We will have another Early Release Day this Friday, November 3rd. Our buses will be departing B.C. Cate at approximately 11:10 and we will open the bus loop for parents directly after. Mr. Nolan

B.C. Cate PFO is sponsoring another Krispy Kreme Fundraiser. Order forms will go home this week. The fundraiser will start now and order forms are due back by November 9th with payment in full. The order pick up date will be on November 16th at B.C. Cate Elementary School. Last year's event was very successful allowing profits to go back into our classrooms and provide a new OM grizzly T-shirt for all elementary students. This year three randomly selected students that assist with this fundraiser will earn extra Bear Bucks to use at the R.O.A.R. Store.

Good morning, Each month I host a “Principal's Coffee” meeting. Principal's Coffee is an informal opportunity for us to have a cup of coffee and meet with parents/caregivers from other classes within our school. There is no official agenda, as I would like the format to be a casual conversation in which I can share what’s happening at the school, answer questions you may have, and discuss topics and ideas that relate to the Odessa-Montour Central School mission. Our next meeting will take place on Monday, October 16th from 8:30-9:15 If you would like to attend, you can find contact information via "Rooms". If you have not signed up for that option yet, I would encourage you to do so as that will be my primary communication tool throughout the school year. Mr. Nolan

Principals Coffee
Good morning, I wanted to welcome you to “Rooms”, our new communication tool. For the past several years we have used Class Dojo. “Rooms” provides a more secure platform and will be our communication tool moving forward. “Rooms” will function in the same manner and allow my staff a way to strengthen our school-to-home communications. In addition to your teacher’s classroom account, I too have an account for all of B.C. Cate Elementary School and will share with you building messages, important dates, and pictures. I have asked my staff to keep their communications to you within the business hours and would ask that this is reciprocated. The reason for this is that we all have our own family obligations to attend to after school hours and taking some time away from digital devices each day also allows us to model to our children good digital citizenship. Some teachers may choose not to use “Rooms” at this time and communicate through more traditional methods such as student planners, phone calls, e-mail, etc. Thank you in advance for your patience as we adjust to this new system, Mr. Nolan
